WHAT IS THE GCAR HOMEBUYER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM?
The Gunnison-Crested Butte Association of REALTORS® Homebuyer Assistance Program is a private sector affordable housing initative conceived by members of the Colorado Association of REALTORS®. GCAR adopted this idea in 2023 and has started up their own approved Homebuyer Assistance Program.
The program is controlled and administered by the Gunnison-Crested Butte Association of REALTORS®. The program was established for the purposes of facilitating and increasing housing opportunities within the local region served by GCAR. Participating Brokers give back to their community by donating a portion of each closing along with the cooperation of Alpine Title, Gunnison County Abstract Company and Land Title Guarantee Company to the GCAR Homebuyer’s Assistance Program.
The purpose of the fund is to provide financial resources to individuals and families in need of financial assistance as homebuyers and to assist with home ownership opportunities within the local region served by the Gunnison-Crested Butte Association of REALTORS®. Applications are due 28 Days prior to closing.
Recipients of the GCAR Homebuyer Assistance Program grants will be made on a monthly basis of $1000 each for the first year. The GCAR Board of Directors has established guidelines for granting funds to individuals and families. The GCAR Homebuyer Assistance Program Committee is made up of GCAR Members.
